Avery’s head spun again and just for a moment he was with Kare again. Karina and sevel people he didn’t recognize where shuffling past him. He saw himself. Slumped peacefully against a wall.

Then he was back. Not that he’d ever really left, but Calexia was staring at him as if she was waiting for a reply of some sort.

“Avery”

“This isn’t real.” Avery breathed.

“What?” Calexia snapped, Suddenly looking a lot more concerned for Avery’s sanity.

The trees rustled in an ominous sort of way, and he felt as numb to any of his newfound ease as he was to his arms. “We shouldn’t be here…” Avery scanned the area. Still no sign of more creatures. But an unexplainable panic rose in his chest. Like something was shouting at him to run.
