I have watched lots of crime/mystery shows, so I’ve picked up a few things(and researched to double check some of them). 😛

1. This made me think maybe she could stage her death during a trip? On a boat if they know she was on the boat when they left, they aren’t missing any rafts/life boats, she left a note or there was a storm(or both), and they can’t find her. They might think she jumped/fell overboard.
Or they lose her on a survival trip. Maybe some evidence suggesting something happened. Or they think she doesn’t have good survival skills. And maybe they didn’t think she took any food with her. or she said she was going to commit suicide (in a note probably)

4. If one of her parents is a nurse, it might be possible for her to sneak out something that would put her in a coma. Like @anne-of-lothlorien suggested. Of course she would have to figure out what exactly to take so didn’t die for real. And it would have to be taken during a mix-up or something that would account for the hospital missing them.

5. Being in a coma wouldn’t probably be ideal if she wants to watch them. There are pen/screw/tiny cameras you can get for not too much. Not sure how some of them work exactly. So I don’t know if you’d have to hook the tiny/screw cameras up to something to store the memory (probably yes). Of course you have to consider how much memory the camera can hold before it stops. There are lots of factors, storage space (30 minutes-12 hours), price ($10-100+, but average of about $10-40), video quality (resolution), does it have built in audio recording too, the area she wants to hide it in, etc.. What’s her budget? Can she order things? If she can’t then there could be a tech store nearby.

10. If she was tech-savvy it’s possible that she hacks her friend’s phones/laptops and use them as cameras.

15. I think the problem with them finding her body is that she will have to stay still and even if they don’t get her pulse they will stay with her or take her to the hospital. Unless she has someone who’s in on it who can remove the body or something. Which is why this is so hard. They find her body they take her to the doctor and find out she’s not dead. :/
