@the-fledgling-artist FLEDGE THAT’S BRILLIANT! That’s just the perfect situation to put Basil in the story. Aaaahh I love it :’) Hahaha just the thought of Kester and Gisette figuring out how to take the plans and eventually deciding to just take Basil with them makes me laugh.

Gisette: *looks at poor little basil holding the weather machine plans* ‘You know… we could take him with us?’

    Kester: ‘TaKe HiM WiTh Us.

@h-jones Ahhh that’s a great idea! As if they’re sort of telling the story to the king from the very beginning!! Could you imagine the king slowly starting to frown more and more during their tale as he notices that Kester and Gisette like each other x’D

@slisby Ooooh I love that idea! Like you said, it wouldn’t all be that repetitive. And yesss to them all being in the same room. Man, the king will be so confused by the end x’D

@Y’ALL So I’ve been brainstorming about Gisette’s history a bit more and I figured that her backstory might be a tad too dark for our comic? So I figured out that instead of her mother having passed away and her brother falling/faking his death it all might have went a little different.

Maybe her brother does not exist at all and during the raid on the capital it was her mother that fell off the island. She landed on one of the ships and lost feeling in her legs. However due too the little technology they have she survived, but would have to remain in a weelchair for the rest of her life. This way we don’t have to explain Gisette’s fear for heights in flashbacks and it’s enough to just show her mother maybe somewhere at the beginning of the story.

It would also explain why Gisette thinks technology is the best thing to ever exist! It saved her mothers life and therefore Gisette disagrees with her father on the subject. Maybe, as the story progresses, she realizes it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

Maaaaybe Basil only has half the plans for the weather machine. So they travel to the evil kingdom to find the other half to built one theirselves, for protection of their kingdom? Only to figure out allong the story that it would be a terrible idea so they decide to destroy the weather machine altogether?

ANYHOW what do you guys think? Do you still like the idea of her having a brother that ends up being the villain or do you like this better?
