@the-fledgling-artist Sorry to butt in (and hi, @lianajdouglas! Welcome aboard) but I think the problem with puns and with cleverness in general in writing is that you are aware the writer had all the time in the world to think it up before putting it on the page.

In real life, if someone makes a clever quip you can appreciate their quick mind, but that component is lost in writing.
