Hey, @evelyn Thanks!
I joined Ydubs this February. It’s been a blast, and I’ve already learned so much about writing. I’ve been writing seriously for about five years, I think. But writing in general started when I was in Kindergarten. XD I was one of those kindergartners who could read really well and always had a book in my hand, so writing just naturally followed.
@the-fledgling-artist Ooh, that’s a tough one. Tips for writing humor… lemme think. Well, first off, you gotta study jokes. See what makes people laugh… and what doesn’t. Specifically choose people who don’t laugh often, and study them. I tend to be one of those people, so if something makes me laugh, most people are also going to laugh. But there’s so many different types of humor. Mine tends to be a bit more morbid than some people like. Some people prefer puns instead. (Is not a big pun fan) And then there’s different types of humor for different ages and audiences. Just do a lot of studying people. 😉 I’d honestly say that it just takes practice… and you really never know. The nice thing about writing humorous stories is that someone, somewhere along the way will probably laugh. Which makes it worth it. XD
