*clears throat* Is this thing on? *taps microphone*
Screeeeeeeech!!!
Yikes. Don’t do that, Cassie. You’ll scare everybody away. And you can’t afford to do that. You need these people.
But why?
Because how else can you create the next greatest fantasy series if you don’t have a bunch of beta-readers giving feedback?
Hmm. You’re right. Scaring everyone away would not help my case in the least.
*sigh* I thought I made that clear from the beginning. Never mind. Just get on with the speech.
*salutes* Will do, alter ego!
*clears throat again* Hello, fellow Christian writers! It’s me, Cassie Hartfinh, that infamously diabolical author who is known for torturing her main characters and wreaking havoc on the worlds she creates.
Ugh! What did I just tell you about scaring them away…oh, forget it. Continue.
Last November, I began writing my first fantasy novel, with an idea in mind to make it a four-part saga with a Revelation-like plotline. Well, I’m almost 50,000 words into the first part, and I finally feel like I’m ready to put it on a Doc and let you guys read it. Because let’s be real: I can only weave the best tales if I have the best beta-readers giving me feedback.
If you followed along with my last novel, The Cry of the Lost, you know the drill: I post a chapter at a time, you guys read and suggest edits, and I make changes accordingly. When the book is edited to its finest, I publish the book and close the Doc. (Did I mention every one of my beta-readers gets mentioned in my Acknowledgements section?)
So what do you say? Would you like to beta-read my latest novel as I write it? If so, please reply to this post. Let’s say, if I get five or more replies (from five different people, mind), then I’ll reply to this post with the link to the Doc, and tag you in. If not, I’ll know my latest novel is a bust and I’ll give up the project entirely, taking a match to it and watching as the flames consume my draft and reduce it to ash.
Aren’t you going to offer even an inkling as to the novel’s premise? What if they’re not interested if they don’t know a basic summary?
Well, I can’t really explain too much without giving it all away. I thought leaving everyone in the dark would intrigue them, thus encouraging everyone to reply to this post.
You’re eccentric. *sigh* However, I must admit, your pitch wasn’t the worst I’ve seen.
*tips hat* Thank you. Now, without further ado, let’s tag in some candidates!!

(Please, God, let this work.)
Ugh, you’re so doubtful.
Pssshhhh…
