@Supermonkey42 Whoa, I liked how you explained where his excitement came from, or else we probably would have thought he was sadistic or something. And I also liked how in the end, you had him open his eyes to what was really going on around him. 🙂 There was a bit of telling in there that I think distanced readers a little from the emotion your character was feeling, but considering it’s such a short piece, I can understand why you would use it. 🙂 Maybe I’ll have to extend the word count a little next time :).
