I’m editing the 41,000 word sequel to my self-published book. And yes, it’s TOUGH. There’s always so much more that needs to be changed than I thought there would be. But like you and @kb-writer pointed out, that’s where you really get to know the story. I find drafting more pleasant most of the time, but I think the hard work of editing is even more rewarding. I love the feeling that I finally came up with the “right” wording or bit of dialogue or plot development.
