I totally get not knowing how much time you can commit, and that’s fine. I understand the joys of commuting, and rain my kite, time just vanishes on the road.

Word wars are just seeing how many words you can write in a set amount of time. They work great for some people, but absolutely horribly for others. But that’s why this is such a great forum. Everyone can try bits of different things, and use what they find helpful, and discard what they find distracting.

Okay, so, to start with, the guilds were sorted by what things people were struggling with. What we were not expecting, however, was that within two weeks or so, we’d have over 100 people signing up. So, you’ve actually been sorted at random. Some people have requested to be in certain guilds because they know someone in it, but aside from that, it is random. Not by genre. There just happens to be a lot of fantasy writers here. (I myself do not actually write fantasy as much as dystopian and sci-fi.)

When I say, ‘character building station,’ I more mean to be able to find how to make character voice clear, and to learn through trial and error how to write a specific character. I’m currently writing a novel that is going really well, purely because I know the character like the back of my hand. The prose has been flowing smoothly, and the character voice is coming through clear. Now, as always, you can pick and choose between what things you do on the forum.

As for people volunteering, that’s purely up to the person. I think I’ll just ask for people to tell me in a week or so if they are interested, and we can schedule that in. Again, it’s up to each person to choose if they want to do that, and I’m willing to step in and help them prepare the lesson.

The live Q&A is an interesting idea, but has lots of little technicalities to sort out, so, we’ll see how that goes.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Really stellar to know what people are thinking!
