    @anne-of-lothlorien

    I have firmly decided to never touch that series with a stick. Severely unhappy with the whole affair. Same thing with the new Anne of Green Gables series that came out. I am just galled that they would even attempt to replace Jonathan Crombie, Megan Follows and the rest… How can you get a better cast?!?!?! I refuse to watch them.

    In some ways I wish I had never heard the whole thing because if I hadn’t I probably could really enjoy the movies, but reading the comments were horrible, they were similar to the comments made by the cast/director for The Beauty and the Beast, so that’s why…

    Our family hasn’t gotten into it because of the costumes, but I’ve enjoyed being a not fan. What really made me laugh though, was at music camp we were in four different teams, and each team had to come up with an 8-minute musical of the story of Jonah with two original songs. Well, the blue team (which had my  Tolkien friend as the salty ship captain) made one of their songs “The Crew of the Effron” because the name of their team was Rewrite the Sharps. It was so funny because one of my friends who was in that team was the one who had gone crazy over him when it first came out. You can actually find the video on YouTube, it’s called Blue Team Skit SMA, the song is quite catchy and can get very stuck in your head… And the other song… The Belly of a Whale.

    WHAT?? *Covers face with hands* Oh dear… I would have thought you to be quite the good southerner. Oh well, if you ever need to move to Texas… Just let me know, you’ll get covered in confetti. 😉

    Our youngest is three, and I can’t remember who she got, but the little stinker of a five-year-old brother, he hands down, was Boromir. My other brother is Merry, always trying to keep me out of trouble. XD

    @wordsmith listen to Anne please, she knows what she is talking about.

    Anne, thank you so much!!! I’m so clumsy, I’ve broken the coffee pot at least… Twice? I really wish that I had elven grace, but I don’t. If I’m standing still (or pointing an imaginary bow at you) I look like one, which is the best part about being so tall, but once I try to do anything I’m always making everybody laugh because I’m always doing something dumb/catastrophic.

    Ooh, that is COOL!!!! I would love that, and no, I haven’t read that book even though I’ve seen it mentioned a lot on the blogosphere. I hate/love when I read about characters and wish I had them as a best friend, it makes it so hard to close the book, and then I miss them for a while…

    @wordsmith I must admit when I read your response I just howled.

    All I can say is that girls sort of are familiar with the topic of heels, and there’s a reason why we’re flipping back and forth between “That would be so cool/funny” to “That is insane, he has no idea what he’s saying”. I mean, it takes me about two minutes of wearing to wonder what possessed me to don them, the skinnier the heel the worse it is.

    O.K. So this probably means that you are not a natural born Texan? I was born and bred in Texas, pretty much just Central Texas, but I have history in East Texas due to going to my Grandma’s house to go camping/family events. My dad grew up there, so we definitely have roots there. I love the scenery of places other than Texas, and will admit that it isn’t the most gorgeous state, but I love it, and am proud of it. The only other state I can really love is Florida… And as far as the WBTS, I’m on the southern side, especially after figuring out that Abe Lincoln is not my hero, he has a darker side that is a little creepy, and he has statements that show that he was not as concerned about slavery as he was that the country stayed together. Plus I have ancestors who fought on the southern side, so I’m proud of that. 🙂

    Haha!!! I will admit that martial arts is by far the more awesome of the two (especially because I hate clowns). I’d love to be able to do some of the moves, but considering that I will probably hurt myself/break something/hurt somebody… It just looks so cool and would be so helpful for knowing how to write fight scenes. Oh help, on the list of things I want to do so I know how to write it is also sword fighting, I’d love to have a claymore.

    Thanks. 😉

    Almost correct. When I talk, if I’m not excited then it’s middleish, not really very high, but not anywhere close to Galadriel style low. What’s odd though is when I sing it’s much higher. I have trouble singing May it Be and Into the West, I do much better with In Dreams and The Last Goodbye. Technically I’m a first soprano (meaning in a choir I would be hitting the highest notes). I was able to hit the high C the other day, which was shocking actually, then I was dying with laughter because my brother wanted to try it and it did not come out quite right. Yes, @anne-of-lothlorien , I think that’s pretty much correct (at least some of the time) ;). When I’m singing think Celtic singer, when I’m talking think… Who talks like me, that’s a little hard to think about. And it can depend upon which accent I’m using.

    Hmm, so your voice hasn’t finished changing? I would probably expect  a higher guy voice, maybe more in Frodo’s range? I agree with Anne’s idea on it too.
