@corissa I like the idea of a strange sort of peaceful. The world is still ravaged, but the final sunrise is almost an oxymoron. Almost. So it’s symbolic of the old passing away – but there’s hope (symbolized in the sunrise) – and the new is coming. It’s a picture of redemption.

As for the character . . . I think it would fit best if (he? she?) feels a sorrow that’s mixed with peace and expectation of what is to come. Like an elderly person who’s about to die. Expectant. At the same time sorrowful, but still the overriding feeling is one of faith, hope, and peace.

That’s my take on it, anyway.
