The Dark and the Light

Beyond my window, the Dark.
In my heart, the Light.
At this time, a Spark.
A candle that rallies a fight.
Against the Blood,
Against the Wrath,
Of spirits and shadows
Who walk on a path
Where light is a lie,
And innocents die.
We must now be
Hope for the bound;
The lost are not free
Until they are found.
Let our Lights shine
As the brightest of Stars,
To banish the Dark,
And cherish the Spark,
That chases away,
The darkness of gray.
Our Lights must be:
Ever Watchful,
Ever Clear,
Never Scant,
Never Fear;
Always Strong,
Always Brave,
Always Swift to free the slave;
Enduring in Love,
Sound in Faith,
Quick to forgive,
A safe resting place;
Empowered by our Savior and Friend,
Whose Purpose and Plan
Lead us to the End.
The Dark and the Light
Have their Fight;
They battle in realms unseen.
So sharpen your Sword,
Gird your waist,
Put on your Armor
And make haste
To the Fight to which you are called.
Never back down,
Never give in,
Though in the dark you seem to drown.
Your Captain won’t leave,
He will not fail.
Just trust Him alone,
Through Tempest and Gale.
Through Light and through Dark,
You must be a Spark.
