How cute! It’s really sweet as is, but it would be really cool to see if you add those thoughts you had. I love the idea of the monster being real and the boy befriending it (I’m all for monsters).

Another Poem (because they’re fun). This one I think I wrote for my sister, but I know for sure it was about her.

A Friend, Unrecognized

Many people I will claim
To be my friend, yet all the same
The dearest one I pass right by,
And she is still unrecognized.

Though other friends make laughter bright,
Only she is there in the dark of night;
When tears and fears cause me to flee,
Compassionately, she’s after me.

Though sometimes she’s without a friend
And I ignore her, can’t pretend
I don’t, yet when I need someone
To be my friend, then she will come.

This poem’s to recognize a girl,
Where joy and love together swirl.
My sister: loving, dear and kind,
But yet a friend, unrecognized.
