@kb-writer That’s such a sweet poem! It made me smile 🙂 I like it that way, too.
The snake line…ah, that always got on my nerves after I turned thirteen and realized it wasn’t sentimental. 😉 I’m glad I didn’t get rid of it, though. Shows a bit of my personality. XD@evelyn thank you! So happy you liked it!
This was a poem I wrote for my Grandparents on their sixtieth anniversary. My family and cousins all laughed at the funny lines dispersed throughout. Hope you enjoy!
Grandma and Grandpa
Taking a walk or hike won’t matter,
Her happiness will never shatter.
Reading poems for a talent show,
Makes her face turn all aglow.
She’s my Grandma, yes it’s so
My Grandpa wed her long ago.
Sixty years they’ve spent together
In hot, in medium, or in cold weather.
Grandpa dunking in the river,
I remember seeing him shiver.
He makes burgers on the grill,
And each day he takes a big pill.
He knows all kinds of plants and trees,
And to his flowers come lots of bees.
Grandpa taught me many things,
About trees, critters, or beasts with wings.
Grandpa and Grandma have influenced me,
To share God’s Word, and that’s the key.
