@msqueen8 Yeah, I think what’s hindering me is that my story could head in a few different directions if I don’t figure out the point of it, in concrete terms. I’ll definitely start by working my way back… it seems to be the easiest thing for me to do at the point. Thanks!

@noahlitle I know what my theme is because I know what my climax is, and yet I remain blank on how to get there. I think what you’re saying is finding ideas as to what the hero could spend his story time doing. I believe I know that already, it’s just that coming up with that in concrete terms is causing me difficulty. I’ll keep an eye out for the book! Thanks.

@j-parkhurst Yeah, I see what you’re saying. I think I only have one major scene known to me, and that is the climax, so I’m really only building everything from there. I’ll have to come up with a few bigger plot points.

@r-j-karas I see what you’re saying — it’s really helpful! (Once I learned the 3-act structure, that kind of plot diagram always confused me, because isn’t the denouement supposed to come directly after the climax?) Yeah, I think I need to figure out those major scenes within the book. My second act is currently structure-less. Thanks so much!

I’ll see if I can post a Google Doc containing a brief synopsis of my story so far, so we can brainstorm together. I already have one, but I’d have to speak in more general terms, lest my story world confuses people.
