@r-m-archer Thief/assassin characters are the best. : ) Would you mind telling me his personality type?
@kate
Your novel sounds extremely interesting. That’s a creative twist on a common cliche.As for my novel, it’s the first in a two-book series. It’s fantasy-fiction, and basically it’s about another world where the dragons have enslaved the humans. A force of human, rebel warriors who call themselves Freedom Seekers (I may or may not change that name) are striking back from within a network of hidden strongholds. One of these strongholds is a haven for young recruits, who are trained to become rebel warriors. I have four protagonists who are all recruits; two girls and two boys, all within the 13-16 age range. One is kidnapped by the dragons (for rather complicated reasons), and the other three protagonists embark on an action-packed rescue quest across a land ravaged by war.
Oh, and all of my protagonists are amnesia-victims (a fact that only makes sense in context of the story).
In answer to the second question: My characters are what get me excited about it. : ) I’ve spent so much time with them over the past several years, I’ve become rather attached to them. One (female) begins with an “I-can-do-it-myself-don’t-help-me” kind of attitude, but she gradually changes. Another (male) is a lighthearted, optimistic character who’s funny and melodramatic but still struggles with emotions. Another (female) is a shy-ish, kind-hearted character who can be bold when it comes to sticking up for those weaker than she. The last (male) is a thoughtful character with wisdom and maturity beyond his years.
At the heart of the story is the theme of trusting the Creator no matter what the circumstances.
@daeus-lamb Good icebreaker idea. 🙂 How about your writing?
