I also struggle with how slowly I write. Sometimes it seems like everybody and their cousin is publishing a new book every year, and here I am, nineteen, with a dozen novels under my belt, still unpublished, taking three years to write one novel and feeling like a crippled tortoise. I wouldn’t say it’s jealousy of others’ successes, but frustration at myself for not being able to match them. Frustration because God’s timeline doesn’t match up with mine… *rueful smirk* 😛

I don’t think I can honestly say I’ve ever seriously struggled with depression, but the world definitely gets a little duller and darker when I start comparing my lack of success to everyone around me and getting paranoid about what I’m ‘doing wrong’.
