@Rosemarylouise @samuel the difficulty with online tests is that they A. require a great deal of deep personal knowledge and honesty, and B. too often asses due to psychological ‘symptoms’, or traits that are generally an indication of your mental structure but can also be attributed to other things, and throw the test score off. Such as your life experience, lessons you’ve learned, people who have influenced you, etc. This makes online tests not the best indicators of your mental structure at its core.

Rosemary, I would definitely recommend taking a test over assessing yourself on a chart though. The first time I heard of the theory I assessed myself via chart and was convinced I was an ENFP, until someone who knew me ( @daeus-lamb ) heard it and said ‘No way! Take the test again— ten to one you’re an INFP!’

He was right. 😛 My first result of actually taking the test was INFP, and now that I’ve studied typology for several years I’ve only realized more and more how accurate it is.

So online tests can be accurate. Just be sure you take them with a grain of salt until you’ve studied up on personality some more. 😉
