Okay, it looks like this is finally working again. I tried to reply about 3 times this morning, and none of them posted, so we’ll see how this goes. 😛

I love @kate‘s idea; I think that it would be fun to write it from the first-person point of view of the child, because then he can interact with the fire pixie, but because it’s from his POV the reader would still wonder about the pixie’s reality. Do you think that would work @literatureforthelight? (I definitely love the prodigy idea, and we could still use that here)

If we go that route, the main question is the ending. Do we still have him go back to the chimney sweep life? Or do we give it a warmer, happier ending, where someone (not necessarily the person he saved) offers him schooling and he accepts it, and the death of the fire pixie is symbolic of the death of his old life?
