@kate @literatureforthelight Agree with everything here… and I have lots of ideas. But I also really like the little chimney sweep who overhears the plot… and maybe we could break a cliche. Let the boy/girl warn the royalty in person, but even though the royalty decides to humor them and investigate, and is surprised by the truth, they don’t reward the chimney sweep in any way- and it ends with the little chimney sweep being content any way, just knowing that they helped. That would be a really neat theme that would challenge us older ones- being content to help because it’s the right thing, not because we want the reward.

Thoughts?
