A third man stepped near, “What’s going on?” His tone was hard, and the mask didn’t help the façade.

Ohel took a small step back, holding his hands higher, away from the dagger. His heart pounded as the masked man stepped nearer. Am I drunk? No. This… No. Dreaming? May it be so. “I don’t know.” Ohel whispered. His eyes flashed to the girl, wondering if she was a vixen like his mother, or like his youngest sister. Am I going to die? Are they going to kill me?

Leana glanced at Alessio and John, then back to Ohel. “Guys. Relax.” Leana spoke firmly, but her tone stayed gentle. She didn’t go near the stranger or leave Alessio’s side, “Tent, I am Leana daughter of Nithel.”

Alright. Ohel didn’t relax, looking from her, to the others again. The girl might help. But how much sway does she really have with the men? Too much? Nothing at all? Heh… if they treat her badly, it might be easier to get her to come with me…
