Leana didn’t know what to say about the boys’ banter, about girlfriends, crushes, and such. She was too tired, and too used to it, after being around so many men in camps. Though… she did imagine what the perfect gift, from a fellow, would be…

Leana followed/walked with everyone to a store full of things she’d never even considered existing. But, where she usually would have been overwhelmed by curiosity and excitement… she barely had the will to keep standing and not plop to the floor.

She found herself people-watching. Particularly John, and the man behind the counter, trying to imagine their stories. If they had children. Wondering about this Amnesia, who captured her father… Hearing Alessio mention agonizing torture and sadistic entertainment… didn’t help her imagination… An imagination both her parents had helped to flourish.

She lowered her eyes, and stared at the floor, quiet.
