When they finished, Arsene put his tail coat back on. “Well, that was fun. We should try going on a picnic next time.”

Arsene glanced back at the rest of the kitchen. Half of it was covered in flour, there were a few burn marks on the wall, and there were a couple trays of inedible bread on the table. One was Alessio and Arsene’s attempt to make bread, while the other was a disaster of his own making. He was sure he lost all of his flash powder to Nathair, but apparently he still had some when he started cooking. Yes, that’s what happened. His flash powder somehow ended up in the flour. So when they started mixing… POW!!!

“None of you seem to agree with me.” Arsene commented, drawing this conclusion from the fact everyone was glaring at him.

And well, the kitchen in that section looked a lot worse. Leana and Alessio both took turns glaring at him.

Yes, good times.

Female Deer, on the other hand, had managed to make bread that looked edible. Emphasis on the ‘looked edible’ part. Arsene had stolen a sample of it and hated it. It was too bland. But Female Deer said that would guarantee ‘nobody would steal rations’.

That sounded rather pointed.

But he had also done something else. He seemed to have taken some meats, cut them into smaller portions, and had dehydrated them. They were still in a dehydrator and who knows how long they would be there. No problem though. As long as it tasted better than the bread.

At least Leana had bread that looked good. But Arsene couldn’t confirm whether that was the case or not, because she was glaring at him. It seemed that he wouldn’t be sampling her bread any time soon.

They had been recently informed that the ‘trial’ would be tomorrow morning, so they would have to supply themselves quickly.

“So, while he have time, I say were get any weapons we can find. There’s a store across the street from the hotel and this ‘Lord Amnesia’ says that we can get whatever we need. So, I say we use this opportunity.”

They were still glaring at him.
