    I haven’t done something so convolutedly dumb since I impersonated a chosen from a dead religion…or cult…

That was definitely one of the more stupid schemes he’d been involved in…he still cringed a little thinking about it.

So instead of dwelling on that, Alessio started folding some of the tablecloths into makeshift bags to carry some more food it – it would be imperative to not starve to death or anything…

Before he could make much headway there, a flash of red, black and white vaulted over their “barricade” and hurled a pie at them. Alessio dodged and glanced hungrily at the pie splatter. Then at…Saga?

    Treachery!?

“Death to traitors.” Alessio stated in a menacingly low voice – somehow managing to keep a (almost) completely straight face, as he lifted the pie corpse to hurl back at the flamboyant robber.

Suddenly everything around him leapt up thrusting itself back into its proper positions. Alessio bolted upright, flipping out his knife. His eyes darted to the vibrant orange light surrounding one man’s hand.

“Sorry about that, old habits.” Saga was saying – not bothering to get near any cover once the stranger decided to attack! Alessio yanked his friend back by the arm protectively and stared at the new person with unconcealed suspicion.

“That’s okay.” The man said “Last time, it was a crazy Viking and a kleptomaniac who nearly set the room on fire.”

Alessio hadn’t let go of Arsene but he did relax his grip slightly, glancing around for everyone else. Was Leana safe? Hopefully she took cover, he didn’t see her immediately-

“Very unique guests, Mr. Lupin.” The stranger was still saying. Alessio tensed, glaring dangerously at him.

“Pardon me, but my name is Mr. Thurston Howell the Third.” Saga attempted. Literally no one believes that…

“I know who you people are, Mr. Lupin. Lord Amnesia sends his regards.”

“Tell him to stuff his regards up an-”

“I am fully aware of your concerns, Mr. Lupin.” The stranger interrupted – probably deciding Alessio was not worth addressing. “Do not worry though, Lord Amnesia had given us instructions to supply your group with everything they need.”

“In return for what?” Alessio demanded. Wait…

Alessio’d thought Sir Scary was right behind him but…he actually wasn’t handcuffed anymore! That was grea – Alessio darted an anxious look at Sir Scary. Wasn’t the deal that he wouldn’t kill him as long as they were handcuffed…??
