*Happy gasp* JASMINE!!!! I MISSED YOU!!!
It’s been so long since I saw you around! How has writing been, how are your characters, what have you been up to!?
Okay, to slow down… XD Lemme see, for situations like these I never quite know what to do but I am very partial to exaggeratedly dramatic insults like “I hope a jackal pees on your desendants’ graves” (May or may not have used that one XD)
Other things you could think about. If you have any fictional concepts/mythology in your story, you could use that! Like make up a little backstory for the story they come from, and go with that! Like say you have a special kind of fictional mineral with some power, people might use its name as an exclamation!
I suggest not really using common objects unless you’re really trying to be a bit ridiculous XD I mean… if you commit to it you can have a character exclaim “Scones!” if you really want, but I don’t necessarily recommend it unless it’s really in character XD
Some people do genuinely do that, I have certain friends who call people ‘tortellini’s’ unironically so *shrugs* depends on your character!
You can also just… smash some sounds together, like Brandon Sanderson did for Skyward, he just made up the word “scud” and applied it all over. That works!
If you do make up words, you might want to make up multiple of different intensities, just to convey the nuance of that and so you don’t overuse one word!
Anyway hope this helped!
