Before Nathair could think, the other one burst in – that king fellow, yanking him to his feet very heroically. They made a mad dash for the tunnels and somehow made it out alive. Miles instantly set to bandaging the Blind Guy – yeesh were they ever going to get his name?

“Thanks for that,” Nathair said, breathlessly after the run, and eyed the king suspiciously. “but why’d you do it?”

Miles had had a better chance of survival if he’d just kept running. Wasn’t the idea to save your own skin first?
