This is supposed to be some more of the same story from before. Let me know what I can do to improve @j-a-penrose!

The bag weighed heavily on Taylin’s back. He tried not to think about the object within as he climbed the cliff.

    Only fifteen yards more.

Taking a few deep breaths Taylin shifted his weight and moved his fingers thirteen more inches towards the summit. The pack shifted and the warmth emanating from the stone within made his skin prickle. A screeching call from a Windwalker signaled the nearing of his approach.

    Fourteen yards left.

Why couldn’t they lend a hand, he thought sourly. With strong wings and stronger talons they would have no trouble snatching him and the burden he carried and carry them up the cliff to the palace of the Starsent.

But no. the Windwalkers would not go near the item he had been entrusted with. Only the Starsent and the Seers themselves were not afraid of the power he temporarily had in his possession.

Shaking out his stiff fingers he slowly inched up the cliff. The rushing wind, fatal drop below, and lack of footholds did not bother him half so much as the bag on his back. At last his steep climb tilted away from the cloudy drop below him and Taylin was able to lay on the cold stones of the Climber’s Platform in a sweaty heap.

“Taylin! You made it!” a familiar voice called. Then Wylla was there pulling him up onto his feet. Her dark eyes swept over him in concern before settling on the only thing that really mattered.

“You have it?” she asked softly. Still catching his breath, Taylin only nodded. “Come,” Wylla said taking his scraped hand. “The Queen of the Starsent is waiting.”

Together they walked through the rocky terrain of the Hights. The wind whipped at the pack that still sat so heavily on Taylin’s back. At last they reached the steps of the palace.

A great, white leopard stood guard.

“The Queen of the Starsent waits for the Stone within,” the beast purred. Then turning led the way into the palace.

“Wylla,” Taylin said, tugging her back as she moved to follow the leopard. “What will she do with it?”

Wylla’s brown brow crinkled. “I don’t know. But she’s the only one who can do anything with it at all.”
