That’s almost the saddest backstory I’ve ever heard!! He lost the people he loves most, and then somehow found the will to love again… and lost them to. He must think that love only brings pain. I also noticed that it’s somewhat similar to Darth Vader’s descent story (losing parent, then losing wife), but with enough differences to be believably original.
Maybe he should finally locate that killer and incorporate killing him into the games…
Um, so, one of my side characters is a young boy who got into the game under mysterious circumstances, because he is way under the age limit and no one knows what planet he’s from. Maybe the kid could look something like Andor, or reminds Andor of his son? I just think that might be an interesting detail to give insight on Andor’s thought pattern in the story.
Or maybe an enemy of Andor hired the kid so he could get to Andor. I’m assuming that Andor had many enemies, because of his, uh… work style. Maybe he starts wars on planets just to watch the people suffer?
Should he be the cold and calculating, intelligent and ruthless villain, or maybe a more spur-of-the moment villain, driven more by desires and emotions than anything else? Maybe he has a few anti-villain aspects (aka, he wants to protect the kid that looks like his son), because especially with that back story he seems (or at least seemed) like a sympathetic character.
Let me know what you think!
P. S. I’m looking back and realize that adding Drake and using him as a weak point makes Andor’s story more like Darth Vader’s. Also, great work with Mortar and Andor’s backstory!!
