Macha is going to be worthy of our villain; I see it already!!!! This is going to be so good!
Wait, your characters are from our world…. so they have seen these movies and read these books! That’s awesome!!
Also, guys, I totally forgot that Ron and Kalmar were with Ahsoka and Hermione, so I didn’t talk about them! I’m so sorry!
AHSOKA TANO
We had been walking along — actually quite happy despite the circumstances. Maybe it was just to ward off the fear and uneasiness, but whatever the case, it had worked. The clones were chatting in spite of themselves, Hermione was conversing with Rex, and Kalmar and Ron were joking around together like old buddies:
“So… you carry a stick in place of a sword?”
“It’s a million times better than a sword, I’ll have you know.”
“For kebabs, you mean?”
I had shaken my head and laughed. I like them a lot, and hopefully they will continue to stay positive for the rest of us — especially after what just happened. It is so strange, the way the mood went from joyful to dread in a matter of seconds. You can feel it in the air, tingling on your skin. I narrow my eyes. What now?
The statue I had been staring at with a weird feeling in my gut had transformed, in a great show of power, into an owl-like old woman; who despite her shortness, seemed rather intimidating — especially when her old, but clear voice said, “greetings, children.”
The clones are shocked, but then they draw their blasters and hold them at the ready as Rex whipps out his two hand-blasters. My light-sabers are already ignited and I take up my battle stance with a snarl. Ron and Kalmar drop the big cook-book they were examining and have their weapons at the ready, as does Hermione. Then, from behind us we hear a voice say:
“Who’s she?”
The rest of the group. Great Galaxy!
“Stay back!” Rex barks, and I sense several of the troopers moving to block the door.
The owls fluttering around the odd little woman hoot and fly up toward the bright, domed ceiling. Oh why, oh why, oh why had I let my guard down? If any of these people die because of my lack of attention, I will never forgive myself. Commander Tano, you had better live up to the name! I wish Anakin were here.
Just then, one of the clones — Cutup — speaks up, breaking into my thoughts.
“So you own this damned place, then?”
I can tell Rex is scowling underneath his helmet at the young rookie, but the owl lady just shifts on her feet and turns to face him with her wide, bright eyes.
“Yes, you could say I do.”
I exchange a wary look with Rex. I sense Hermione stiffen up next to me. All eyes are on the owl-lady, and I can feel the tenseness in the air increase. My light-sabers hum, and part of me just wishes to decapitate the old lady. But that is not the Jedi way, although the sense of terrible evil is strong in this room. She probably needs to be interrogated, and we must find out if she is working for someone. But I fear for the clones, I fear for my new friends, and I fear that we have found yet another new enemy.
“Listen,” I say as politely as I can as I take a step forward, still clutching my blades, “we will leave you here in peace if you will only let us leave. All we want is to find a way out of here. We have no wish to fight, but if you try to keep us here, you will live to rue this day.”
In any other time or place I would rally the clones and capture her, but I have the others to consider: the crippled girl, Leeli, and her brothers; and Hermione, Ron, and Harry. Perhaps the Council will not agree with me, but I know Anakin will understand.
