Yeah… a lot of poetry. It’s something I can do during the 15 minute break I get at work on the nights I skip supper, or when I just need an outlet. I took up free verse in the last year, which has really helped. I enjoy rhyming poetry too though, and I’ve been doing that since I was 7 or so. Why do you ask?
Because I LOVE reading, writing, and critiquing poetry. I love learning about poetry and the poets. All things poetry I like.
It’s good to just let go and flow out upon the page. Have you ever tried writing with a ABCB rhyme scheme? It’s one of my favourites.
Not gonna lie, as much as I love poetry I haven’t learned a lot about the technique of it, and I had to look up what an ABCB rhyme scheme is. ;P But yes, that was actually my primary pattern until a couple years ago when I started branching out a little more. (Also, do you happen to live outside the US? Just curious because of how you spelled “favourite.” 🙂
Yeah, no I don’t. I’m currently living in California, but I’m also European as well as American.
That’s pretty cool! I’ve read a lot of old European books, and I have a few Australian friends, so I actually kind of prefer the “ou” spelling. 🙂
Yeah. For me it adds character to the word. Somehow.
Exactly! I don’t know if you have ever seen and/or read Anne of Green Gables, but it reminds me of that- because Anne with an “e” really is so much nicer than just Ann.
Also, random fact, every time I see the “ou” spelling, it reminds me of the word “facetious,” which is the only word in the English language to include, in alphabetical order, one instance of every vowel. (unless you’re counting “y” of course- though I suppose you could use the word “facetiously” for that 😀 )
I’ve never read it but I’ve seen two different versions of the movie, yes. True, Ann just seems to let you off a cliff.
That’s cool, I’ve never heard of a word like that before!
