“Sh-Shyla!!” the man standing over her cried, stiffening, he collapsed to his knees. His eyes were wide, and his breathing heavy. Rhioe dropped down next to him, she gritted her teeth, trying to ignore the pain in her ankle.

The man’s hand slipped from her shoulder, and traveled up to his temple. She tried calling to him, but it seemed that he couldn’t hear her.  She shook him gently trying to jolt him out of whatever break-down he was experiencing, but he was unresponsive.

Tears crept into her eyes, today had just been way too emotional. Rhioe felt helpless, as she watched him shaking, there had to be some way to help him. She only had one idea that might work.

She placed her cold hands on his burning forehead. She carefully massaged his temples, as she did, she began speaking kind and soothing words to him.

“It’ll be okay,” she whispered, “I don’t know who Shyla is, but it’s okay, you’ll be fine.”

She didn’t know what sort of spectacle this looked like to anyone passing by, a teenage girl massaging a grown man’s forehead, but she didn’t care, if it helped, she would do it.

He suddenly groaned, and met her gaze, his dark eyes traumatized.

“It’s going to be okay.” she said. Gazing into the serious eyes of her companion.
