Rhioe’s eyelids fluttered open, bright light burned her eyes. A dark silhouette appeared, blocking out the light, and her vision focused.

“You.” she gasped, trying to get away, but the pain in her foot stopped her.

Her head began to swim, and she tried to get herself under control. “What are you doing here?” she asked, her eyes flashing angrily as she stared at the dark, serious eyes of the person standing over her.
