Calla drew her long dagger and stepped forward. “I’m coming. And so is Alagwyn if she comes back.”

“So’m I!” Eero dug around in his satchel, muttering something about poisons. Finally he pulled out a dagger.

“No.” Calla put a hand on Eero’s chest. “It’s too dangerous, and besides, we need someone to stay with Eiri.”

Eero narrowed his eyes. “No. We shouldn’t split up. That’s how people get attacked by dragons– am I right, Calla Dragonslayer?”
