@princess-foo Oh, yes! Characters really make or break a story for me. I seem to really love the characters who are complex and difficult to understand. I am particularly thinking of Jane Austen’s Fanny Price in Mansfield Park, and also Frodo Baggins. One of the big reasons I get so mad at people who watch The Lord of the Rings movies (without having read the books…) and say they hate Frodo. Like, really?? Someone (actor, director, script writer, SOMEONE) did something terribly, terribly wrong. Frodo is a wonderful fellow. A real hero in a very hobbitish, unheroic way. No, he doesn’t ride on white horses and he is the only hobbit that never kills something in combat, but he’s…he’s Frodo! Anyway, private rant over XD.
