Please pray for my Dad. He’s a godly man, but he is missing his sweetheart.
As a pastor, many people seek his prayerful counsel, but often people forget that he is a man grieving and struggling too.
I will yes. My family’s been praying for all of you with me since we got the news and so the Carmelites in Mom’s formation. It’s so hard losing someone who’s been a part of you so long… and it must be so difficult for your dad with so many people coming to him for support and being so used to his strength in prayer and in God that they never offer a hand. I’m so sorry. Thank you for asking me, I’ll be especially careful to have him in my thoughts when I pray. <3
How are you doing?
I am doing okay. Sometimes it is hard when I see or read something interesting or funny and I want to call her, but then remember she is in Heaven. It is tough being in this limited understanding awaiting for God’s perfection to overtake me in my daily journey. I rely on Him day by day. Thank you and your family for the prayers. They mean more than you know. [[Hugs]]
I’m so glad I can do that much for you at least. [[squeezes back tightly]]
I can’t imagine how hard it must be for you now, even knowing she’s in a better place by leaving it still hurts so much. [[sits beside you and stares down]] Actually, a couple weeks ago my best friend and I broke ties with each other. I was just recently kinda piecing together some giant puzzle my parents had left out and I was laughing about how much I hated huge puzzles and my best friend loves huge puzzles and she’d get a kick out of me putting it together and then I just about cried in front of everybody.
But it kinda made me think how I miss all the things she won’t do with me anymore and how God must miss all the good things we’ll never do when we leave Him. And maybe death is there for Papa to share just a little of the pain He feels missing all the souls that hate Him or just don’t love Him or end up betraying Him with sin. That maybe it’s God trusting us like we’d only ever talk to people we really trust about our deepest hurts. And that pain is so powerful the way it can deepen our capacity to love and it can give us empathy that we’d never have without the hurt. It’s a harsh sort of gift I guess…
Which I guess you already know and I’m just rambling I guess and…well, love you, and I’m so sorry life is so tough but I know Papa’s very pleased with you and proud of His children and loves you for enduring and…<3 <3 <3
