Ok, I just want to take a moment to appreciate how all Karayan has done since he came here is bleed burn lines and eat cookies he is awesome.

Thanks!  Yes, Karayan is about 80% sass by volume.  He’s also several hundred years old and has the accompanying wisdom and he’s seen it all so by this point he’s just kinda done with all the silly mortal shenanigans.

Þorunn sighed in annoyance.  Chantara overestimated her ability for deception, it seemed; not only was she clearly less than innocent, but Þorunn was not stupid enough to think Chantara was not actively plotting her murder.  The shieldmaiden decided she ought to watch her back in case the ‘assassin’ made an attempt.

“Yes, process of elimination is always a useful tool,” Karayan said sagely as he wrapped up Chantara’s fingers.  “We now know not to tell the goose we want it dead when trying to coax it.”
