Planting the cane, Marnin ducked beneath the singing blade. He pulled back. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Gwyneth run to Finley, who hadn’t said much during the whole exchange. Standing there calmly he watched the two twins as if they were no more than annoying flies buzzing around him. So they chose to fight. The field spun around them at a dizzying speed, giving the most motion tolerant individual vertigo as it twisted and tilted. Marnin kept his feet, adjusting his stance.
