Tinke stared at her hand, not hearing the others talking about the stranger approaching. There were still red marks around the back of her hand from the real girl’s fingers. Bones ached from being squeezed too tight. There it was. Yes. Pain. Pain from the island, it had only wanted to play. Now pain from the real girl.

That meant she wanted to play too.

Tinke grabbed her scarf, pulling it around her nose breathing in the familiar pine smell as the pain tingled through her fingers. At last they had finished with the island.

Now it was time to play.

She looked up at the real girl, glassy green eyes glittering with a pale insanity. Before she could be stopped, the glass dagger in her belt was in the real girl’s leg. Tinke smiled, watching the blood with a sinister satisfaction.

“Let’s play,” she pulled the dagger out, giggling as it dripped red drops onto the ground. “Let’s play!”

“I want out,” Llewellyn said miserably.

He could lift his head without banging it into the ceiling, but his wings thumped against it, and keeping his back in a hunched position didn’t feel too good.

“Maybe we are here to fight a Villain, but let’s not do it Ancient West style,” he added. “I can’t move or be of any use in here…”

“Uh what are we doing?” Riley asked. “I don’t like those odds. We should probably make a break for it. But we shouldn’t separate. That’s the last thing we want to do and survive.” He brushed his hair out of his eyes. “Don’t worry I’ve seen all the movies with Ben, I know exactly what we should do.”
