Hey, Claire! Welcome! My name’s Sarah. I’m new too, and this place is great. I’m a college student, a sci-fi writer and a nerd (wait, those last two are the same thing). Feel free to tag me if you have any story, grammar or physics-related questions!

I get shopping around for genres. I only just decided that I wanted to write science fiction. Before that I tried heroic fantasy, urban fantasy, lots of fantasy (never contemporary, though. That’s cool! What sorts of stories have you written?)

On the note of “sloppy execution” (I’m sure you’re doing great), here’s some unsolicited advice: just write. Write every day if you can. It’s cliched, but it works. About a year ago I had written one novel and a lot of beginning chapters. When I began to be serious about working on a project every day, I made a whole lot more progress both in word count and in skill. I’ve written four novels now, and although I’m not a perfect writer, I have definitely learned a lot!
