Hi Merie! I’m Rose, pleased to meet you!

 I enjoy reading in most genres, but I always feel most at home in a fantasy world. It’s hard to pick favorites, so I’ll just list a few of my favorite authors: L.M. Montgomery, C.S. Lewis, Brandon Sanderson, Shannon Hale, Adelaide Thorne, Nova McBee, A.M. Sohma, Melanie Cellier, and watch me go on and on…

Oooh, I love L.M Montgomery and Brandon Sanderson! What books by them have you read?

My dream has been to become a published author for, well, almost as long as I’ve been in the storytelling game–which would be about ten ((!!) or so years now? I mainly write fantasy, preferably with a dash of adventure and just a little sprinkle of fairytale magic.

Oh, wow! Ten years is impressive! My own count is at a pitiful two, but I’m happy I’ve made it this far!

I write fantasy too, though I’m on the complete opposite of the spectrum XD I dabble mainly in the ‘no magic, just alternate world’ side of things!

 I’m of mixed cultural heritage and somehow that turned me into a monster.

LOL, that’s a mood!! I was born in South Africa and we immigrated to the Netherlands when I was really young and I can really tell that it’s impacted my stories in major, but unexpected ways XD

Other than writing, my hobbies include drawing and baking and blogging. Other than books, I’m into the usual Asian teenager stuff–anime, manga, K-pop, et cetera, et cetera

I draw and bake too! What’s your favorite thing to bake and what medium do you draw in?

 I first wrote it two years ago, and I spent way too much blood sweat & tears on that thing to just abandon it now. It’s an epic fantasy set in a relatively non-magical world BUT it has fairies so that’s okay. To put it simply… Pax ah’Liba is a young man who’s never been able to look a fellow human in the eye (Aarne-Thompson type 513A   ), and what starts as a risky venture to find a captive [talking] tiger soon puts him directly at odds with the emperor of his great nation.

Oh, wow, that sounds awesome! Also, that sent me in a rabbit hole XD I never even knew the Aarne-Thompson system existed, it’s awesome!

 one too many secret identities float around the confused, lonely, and just a little angry human that is my main character. And no, I am not the cause of his anger. *backs away*

LOL, that’s a mood!! My MC is a feral brat filled with barely contained rage, she’s a trial to manage and keeps ruining my plot, I love her so much XD

And some random facts about me in random order!

I am slightly too fascinated by Medieval weaponry, especially swords. I’ve been doing HEMA for the past few months and it’s amazing! My other big interest is historical fashion, which mainly means ranting about the difference between stays and corsets XD

I’m working on a fantasy WIP, I’m drafting the third book of a trilogy! It’s my first project and I’m not planning to publish it, but I have other books I might end up publishing!
