@aster  :O I love this story idea! So many beautiful themes (that if you did decide to turn into a novella) could be explored in more depth.  (Plus I’d love to know what else happens to Ace and Raven!)

My opinion is that it is great as a short story, but could be turned into a novel or novella is you so desired to explore their story more. 🙂

Do you typically write in past tense?  I do and when I try to switch to present everything feels awkward.

I didn’t feel like the present tense was clunky. I was just curious if it was a matter of you getting comfortable with present tense if it wasn’t your normal tense to write in if that’s what made you feel like it was clunky. 🙂
