Arsene was about to say something, when Sage walked up to the two new adults.

He looked up at them with the widest of eyes and asked in the tiniest voice, “Do you know where my parents are?”

Arsene could not let him know. Not yet. Not like this. Before either of the new people could say anything, Sage turned his attention to what Arsene feared the most.

“Is that a spider?” Sage asked, pointing at the floor.

His eyes grew even wider… until the woman stomped the spider with her foot. Ouch.

Sage looked like he was on the verge of tears. Until… something dreadful happened. The spider regenerated. Only now it was an inch bigger. And… it was sticky, and hairy, and… and…

Arsene cringed upon seeing this… this monstrosity.

Shifting his hands into the dragon form, Sage gently picked up the spider. “Can I keep him?”
