    @taylorclogston

    What I Read: I finally finished Brothers Karamazov and The Fiddler’s Gun (by A.S. Peterson). Started on Fresh Perspectives on Ender’s Game – really highly recommended along with the actual book Ender’s Game, and am about to start Fawkes (you’d be proud, @steward-of-the-pen ๐Ÿ™‚ – I’m looking forward to SE’s series on Fawkes.

    What I Wrote: Nada…

    What I Learned: How cute little baby chicks are. ๐Ÿ™‚ But also, I learned that it’s humbling but I can’t do everything I planned or wanted to do this week. Yet it’s working out. I’ll just have to apologize to those deadlines I couldn’t meet, then get back up and keep going.

    When I read your final paragraphs, Taylor, I had to blink, then read it again.

    Because it sounds like you just described my work life (which spills over to my “personal” life because it’s a family business deal that isn’t a 9-5 thing). ๐Ÿ˜›

    Anyway, have you tried to eliminate some of your stressors? After I found out that almost everything I do in a day is sucking the energy out of me, I decided to have set aside some self-care time and just read and drink tea, or watch a fun (for me) movie, or listening to some (rather positive) music. This is escapism, but I found that when I read writings that help me with my perspective on life’s struggles, it’s actually teaching me things too. And sometimes if I’ve read something rather dark, bleak, or just some bad writing, then I’d read three “great” books to balance it out. I also found that focusing on trying to develop my story have been giving me hope and inspiration as well. Perhaps trying these things will help?

    In terms of journaling – have you tried to find things and write about things you appreciate and are thankful for as well, alongside your feelings of struggle and pain? I’m just wondering if you’re balancing well in terms of perspective. (Because, obviously as you have said, just whining about one’s sufferings can make it feel worse after a time…)

    Finally, a fun and interesting video I saw a few years ago that impacted my perspective on how much words (thoughts and spoken) affects us: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=snowflakes+and+words&t=lm&atb=v126-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=au4qx_l8KEU

    What do you think? If there’s anything else I can clarify or help with, please let me know.

    Will be praying for you, and I wish you a blessed Easterย  – He is Risen! ๐Ÿ™‚
