Sorry for being late!

Character’s Purpose: I really should not have read @evelyn ‘s response, because I was going to say the same thing. 😛 MC should 1) be relatable (realistic) 2) be the main person driving the plot of the story (because he/she is the main character) and 3) either live out the theme of the story or otherwise make it a compelling one.

As for the sidekick characters, they should also do all of these as well, but on a smaller scale. And they should add to the main character’s development and plot. No character should be “useless.” 🙂
