Allow me to first say thank for for the rest of us Madames who have next to no clue about this topic. 🙂

I would also like to add that perhaps you might find reading books that focus on male MCs/POVs to be helpful. (Ender’s Game, for one.)

I find all of these replies to be very interesting and informative… I’m female, but I have an INTJ personality, which is mostly male dominate and that makes me odd I guess for most other females. But allow me to tell you from experience that some personalities – such as mine – generally view crying as a weakness to be avoided, and only do so under extreme circumstances (aka rare – however, during times of depression I tend to lean towards irrationality and sudden crying for whatever weird reasons) and we try our very best to only do so in solitude. Even to the point of feeling extreme shame/embarrassment when crying in public or in front of even close family/friends. From what I read about you, I don’t think you can quite relate, but perhaps some others can (?) Anyway, it makes life and character creation interesting (and complicated).  🙂

Not sure if this helps at all but perhaps you can take that into account when creating characters.
