Research? I research all the time. From, how long does it take for a person to die from sword wounds to types of governments to desserts that used to be made a few centuries ago. Frankly, I don’t think there isn’t a genre that does not need research. Like, how terrible it would be to go on and later find out the way you described something (a church spire in the 1600s, I dunno) and later find out that something was incorrect or lacking. Being ignorant of the smallest thing scares me to death. Or maybe I’m a research freak.
