I have totally not been procrastinating on this subject. Anyhow, my overarching theme in my WIP is something called the Empire. It basically defines everything as an empire that tries to enslave us. (For example, the internet could  be an empire of sorts.)

In book 1/part 1 of my story, Forgiveness is the main theme that ties in with the empirical theme. I guess the question is, “What is forgiveness?” “How do we know that we can/have forgiven?”

Some answers I’ve been covering are:

    • Forgiveness is forgetting
    • Forgiving means carrying all the guilt and dealing with it
    • Forgiveness cannot be truly achieved
    • Forgiveness is only possible by moving on, but not entirely forgetting about it
    • Forgiving does not equate to understanding
    • Forgiving starts with yourself
    • Forgiveness takes time but is possible

Basically, I’ve been trying hard to forgive myself as well as I write flawed philosophical themes. My story is hopefully a sci-fi/mystery about a group of young people who are working for a spy agency that has too many secrets it’s not willing to share, and they grapple a lot about who they can trust, forgiving people from the past and present, and realizing what their reality is. They also come to terms with their identity in Christ.
