@catwing Okay, so I was thinking that the heroes would be caught in an avalanche (maybe caused by fighting with a giant snowman, I hadn’t decided). They should see shelter in a cave, where they would face a riddle.

The cave you find yourself in is dark. Even the ones who can normally see in the dark find it difficult to see through the shadows. It’s also cold, the coldest you have ever been before. If you listen closely, you can hear the tinkling of ice breaking. You realize it’s your breath. It turns to ice as soon as it leaves your mouth and shatters on the ground.
You need to make a fire. Fumbling into pockets, between all the group you come up with a single match. In the cave you have found a lantern, a torch, and a brazier full of coal.
This is both a riddle and your predicament so read carefully.
What do you light first?

The answer is the match. They should light the match first. After lighting the cave they find a secret staircase that will lead them to the ice palace.
