Ok my mistake, you did mention tech briefly. But it wasn’t as obvious because it was so seamless with all the other beautifully fantastical prose, haha! I still would like to see Vasha interact with a different piece of tech.

Perhaps there could be some kind of cool fish tank, filled with the goldfish. Vasha could think of them as pitiful things, obeying the light (or not). She could think of herself like them, not taking her own agency but following mindlessly (which seems like it would fit with the rest of the narrative). What do you think @kate?
