Cathy,
That is a beautiful piece of writing! Your delivery was powerful, and sweet, yet with a subtext of slight sinister… 😉
I knew you could pull this off! Bravo! [Applause!] Bravo!
The image of the wizard “designing” and contemplating his “doll” creation is subtle and has the underlying creepiness, in that he/she (the wizard) is truly not certain what the essence of “soul” truly is. The paper folding we can visualize is your quiet delivery of the lines. Your tones tell the story, even as much as the text does.
The background effects of the quiet, contemplative humming and the ping-ping tapping give rhythm and a mysterious kind of music to the scene.
You should do more of these. You and Rose coordinate it together.
I love the evocative nature and the poetic verses of it.
And the images…
“spindly parchment hair”
“origami-like feathers”
“soulless doll”
Great work! Thank you for joining in the fun! Looking forward to hearing more of your work. You have a great future in this!
Again,…Bravo! Encore! Encore!
